The best organizing systems often have something in common: they’re easy to use. The easier it is to put something away, the more likely you are to do it.

But if the same space fills up a second and third time, clearing it isn't the fix. The pile keeps reappearing because the actual home for those items still doesn't exist, or it exists somewhere inconvenient enough that your brain overrides it.
